Paying for a tournament (players)
- When a division has an entry fee, each player pays their OWN entry fee plus a $5 registration fee, through Stripe — the same secure checkout used by millions of businesses. Dink+ never sees your card number.
- At registration you choose 'Pay my entry fee' (your partner pays their own) or 'Pay for both of us' (great for couples — you cover both fees in one checkout).
- If you register a partner who isn't on Dink+ yet, we email them a link to create an account and pay their share. Add their email when you register.
- Your team is confirmed once BOTH players have paid. If only one has paid, the team is held as pending until the other pays (or signup closes).
- If you close checkout without paying, your spot isn't held long — just tap Pay your entry fee to try again. Stripe emails you a receipt.

Refunds (players)
- Entry-fee refunds are handled by the tournament organizer — reach out to them directly (their facility is listed on the tournament page).
- The $5 registration fee is non-refundable.
- If you withdraw before the tournament starts, let the organizer know so they can process your refund.
- A refund lands back on the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 business days.

Collecting entry fees (organizers)
- Connect a Stripe account once in Settings → Facility → Payments. Stripe handles bank linking, identity verification, and payouts.
- Set an entry fee PER PLAYER on any division in your tournament settings — each player pays that fee when they register. A team confirms once both players have paid; your entrants list shows a per-player count (e.g. 1/2 paid) that collapses to PAID when the team is complete.
- Entry fees go directly to your Stripe account, with automatic payouts to your bank on a rolling schedule (typically 2 business days after each payment once your account is established).

What you actually receive (organizers)
- Each player is charged your entry fee plus a $5 Dink+ registration fee in one payment. The $5 goes to Dink+; Stripe then deducts its standard card-processing fee — 2.9% + 30¢ per payment for US cards — from the total charged, and the rest stays in your Stripe account.
- Example: you set a $75 entry fee. The player is charged $80.00 ($75 entry + $5 registration fee). Dink+ receives $5.00, Stripe keeps $2.62 (2.9% of $80 + 30¢), and $72.38 lands in your Stripe balance.
- Because Stripe's fee is taken from the whole charge, you cover roughly 15¢ of processing on the $5 registration fee. Price your entry fee with this in mind.
- International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion adds 1%. Your exact rate is set by Stripe and shown in your Stripe dashboard; Dink+ does not mark it up.
- If you refund a player, Stripe returns the entry fee to them but does NOT return its processing fee to you — a full $75 refund costs you about $2.62.

Refunds and disputes (organizers)
- Issue refunds from your own Stripe dashboard (dashboard.stripe.com) — find the payment and click Refund.
- To keep the $5 registration fee, issue a PARTIAL refund of the entry-fee amount only (Stripe leaves the registration fee with Dink+ automatically). Refunding the full amount returns the entry fee to the player.
- Your entrants view flags any payment that needs a refund — e.g. a player who paid but whose team was later withdrawn, moved divisions, or over-charged. Refund those from your Stripe dashboard.
- Card disputes (chargebacks) are handled through your Stripe dashboard, where you can submit evidence.
- Questions about payouts, verification, or your Stripe account go to Stripe support, available from your Stripe dashboard.
